My son has had the docband for 1 week and the back of his flat head is looking

flatter and taller. Has anyone had this happen? I feel like the progress we

had made prior to getting the band with all of the tummy time was just lost in 1

week. We have an appt tomorrow... will they remeasure? Is it normal to have

the head look worse before it looks better?

Thanks!

Hi ,

It could be your imagination, but no, it isn't normal to look flatter and taller

in the first week. Many people notice improvement in the first few weeks, but

not negative changes. Generally CT doesn't remeasure at each appointment, but

assesses the head and changes. Please let us know what they say at your

appointment.

,My son's in his 2nd Docband going on 1 wk on Wednesday. When you go tomorrow they will measure the diameter of his head but that's about it. They're not going to do the detailed measurements again like during your consult.

My son's first band treated his plagio but I didn't realize that's what was happening. To me his brachy was worse and I didn't even see the plagio. So his brachy only got better on the side that was trimmed and the other side looked worse but I think it was just an illusion. Maybe they are treating plagio and not the brachy with your son? The band my son is in now is completely different then the first one. For comparison, his first one had 2 lopes, one in the front and one in the back that was used for holding. His current band goes up all the way up in the back with no lopes at all in the front or back.

Will be interesting to hear what CT days tomorrow at your appt. In about another week they should have the mold in their office of your son's head. So you can see his progress.Cheri &
