Guest guest
Aunt B.--sure would be appropriate--your cookbook--where I live! Love to you, n Dinner is ready when the smoke alarm goes off. , Maybe I should loan you my cookbook: " Dinner is Ready When the Smoke Alarm Goes Off " :~P Actually it was put out by the Ladies Auxiliary of a volunteer fire department--bright yellow cover with a girl in a fire suit holding a water hose. Every time I opened the oven door, the smoke alarm would go off. It went off so often it became a joke. Oh, there's the smoke alarm---dinner must be ready! LOL Finally had to move the darned smoke alarm further away from the stove! I am very glad no one was hurt and hope they replace the cooker soon. Guest guest
B, this is too funny! When I was visiting my daughter at Christmas, her roommate (le) put some soup on the stove to heat. Within minutes, the smoke alarm went off. le quickly grabbed a dish towel and a chair, placed the chair under the smoke alarm and climbed aboard madly waving the dish towel to clear the smoke away from the alarm. After the annoying, ear-shattering screeching stopped, Danille climbed down from the chair muttering, " You'd think we'd learn by now not to use that burner! " Apparently, that one particular burner, for whatever reason, makes the smoke alarm go off. There isn't any grease or food particles on it or under it, it just happens. I asked why they even use that burner if it always makes the alarm go off. She said, " Well, ya think we'd learn not to, wouldn't you because it's been happening since we moved in. But it's the closest burner and it's just habit. " (But reaally, it doesn't matter -- I've seen the results of her cooking!) = Kim > ----- Original Message ----- > From: cyxty5rss@a... > , > > Maybe I should loan you my cookbook: > > " Dinner is Ready When the Smoke Alarm Goes Off " :~P > > Actually it was put out by the Ladies Auxiliary of a volunteer fire > department--bright yellow cover with a girl in a fire suit holding a water hose. > > Every time I opened the oven door, the smoke alarm would go off. Guest guest
My best friend growing up had an aunt that their whole family had dubbed " Turn it on high, Loraine. " Her personal motto for cooking was " If it's smoking, it's cooking; if it's burnt, it's done, " ! We as children found this totally hilarious. Now as an adult with four kids, I can understand the want to hurry dinner along a bit. :-) Dawn mom of 4, 8 and under, the youngest wcf
