Guest guest
Hi Fliss, My favorite author is . She is in my top five author of " must have " books (the other ones are Jordan, DeMille, Tony Hillerman, and I can't remember the last one....). I just recently completed my marathon read where I read all of her books one right after the other (they have the same main characters in each so you have a sense of peeking into their lives as they age). She is very intellectual and her characters have very complex psyches that make for page turning, completely absorbing, mind expanding plots. When I read her books I feel as if I have entered the worlds of the character, mind, body and soul. I highly recommend any and all of her books. I will get my thoughts together on my questions...but mainly the ones that I mentioned in the previous posts are the ones that stick in my mind and seem to be the most confusing. I hope you get good news about your husband. I know that in most cases it is a very easy cancer to treat...but I also know that there are exceptions. My uncle was one, so I know that you cannot assume anything based on statistics. So praying that it all is easily treatable. I am happy that your job shouldn't overwhelm you too much. The guest speaker at your event sounds very impressive. And I don't mind name dropping. You should be proud to have such significant graduates from your school. It reflects well on the faculty and curriculum I would think (yes I know that there is some degree of luck involved too - LOL). And it is so true that a change in job duties can be refreshing and rejuvenating...as long as you have support and don't have too high expectations of yourself (like perfection). I hope it all goes well for your head guy, so that he returns soon and healthy. I will try to remember what it was that made me get confused about the educational system. I know it had to do with how degrees are conferred, how one gets into colleges (the tests that are needed) and what it means to be part of the university / college system (oxford and cambridge have been scenes of the crime in the EG books - school ties (the apparal) and loyalties and " cliques " I suppose is the word I am looking for, are all mentioned as if we know the whole psychology of it. And of course there are tons of idioms in the book that I have no idea what they mean.........I should have made a list as I ran across them. A new book is coming out in March and as I read it, I will mark the confusing words or scenarios so I can ask you about them! Laurie
