Guest guest
SSI is income, at least to the child; Medicaid comes with it; one is not taxed on SSI income unless the State you are living in allows this if you are over a certain income, in which case a tiny tax amount is paid annually only to the state; the federal dollars in SSI are not taxed--says my financial advisor--who is also my cousin! n Rojas--in any case it is my opinion that we need and could plan universal medical care, paid by taxes paid by all, in cluding the super rich--but every one knows my biases on that. I will quit and get off that soap box! Love to you, , n Rojas Re: tax question I don't think the government sees your child as disable. He has a chronic illness. SSI is not income. Income is the money you are taxed by the government, either you receive a w-2 or for independant contractors a 1099, where the IRS does not withhold any money, we are double taxed, very unfair but that's another story. You are also taxed on interest that you make on money markets, savings, stocks, some bonds, etc, etc. As you can see it is money that you earn, Torin did not earn the SSI, neither did any of the two of you. who usually has major heart attack, embolism or both by April 15th. > Can anyone tell me if I will receive a tax document for my son's > SSI?? Guest guest
Well, now I am confused, not that is unusual. My kids have stock portofolios and we have to report when they make above so much money a year. Remember the 90s, when even the stocks for already chew gum made money, those years we had to report on their income, not the past two years. I do not know this year, the tax law has change some, too. > > Can anyone tell me if I will receive a tax document for my son's > > SSI??
