Guest guest
So I guess I don't even have a starband or CT available to me Thank goodness there's a hanger at least. They're good right? Are there any other brands I can look for?
Guest guest
Hanger bands are supposed to be very similar to the STARband. The band is good, but your success will depend upon the skill of your ortho. Ask a lot of questions about experience doing bands. From what I have read, in some locations, the person that does the band only does cranial bands and does lots of them. In other locations, the person that does the band has less expereince with cranial bands. If the person you talk to doesn't have a lot of experience, ask them if there is someone there that does. Also, experience doesn't equal success, so post a question about your specific location on here and check in the archives for posts about it. When you go in, judge your comfort level with the person that you speak with. I know that in some areas, there is more than one Hanger location. Do you have locations to choose from or only the one? Guest guest
Apparently the same hospital I just posted about also has a StarScanner, but again, it's pretty far away. Here's the contact info listed for the StarScanner. Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center 4800 Sand Point Way, N.E. Seattle, WA 98105 206-386-6100 If you do decide to go to the neuro there, I'd go for the free scan on the same day since it's such a long drive. I'm pretty sure they don't require a script to get scanned at StarScanner locations, but you'd have to call and make sure. Then at least you'd have measurements to compare! This is also an option if you have trouble getting your doc to write a prescription because you could do the scan in Seattle to prove you need the band, get the prescription, then go to Hanger to actually get the band since it's closer. > > There is only one in town (Salem) but many about an hour north of here. > > Kim > > > > > ________________________________ > From: <watsonmel3@...> > Plagiocephaly > Sent: Fri, July 9, 2010 2:38:27 AM > Subject: Re: starband/CT not available > > > Hanger bands are supposed to be very similar to the STARband.
