Guest guest
Yeah Genz, I will never forget the foam tummy that he uses to illustrate how the tool cuts through the stomach leaving staples lining both sides of the cut. Much like a zipper looks when it is unzipped.
Guest guest
OK, Maybe I don't even know the little I thought I did. In the manual, and on the site, it says, " divided with the Endo GIA " , which is the staple gun. The pictures show the stomach still together, just divided by a staple line. Oh now I'm confused. I believe that the stomach is not incised or cut right thru. Who knows for positive? PJ
Guest guest
Hi Debby, The stomach is severed. When you go to clinic you will see that Dr. R uses an instrument that cuts, seals and staples along with slicing and dicing....just kidding. The severing of the stomach makes for a stronger pouch and the danger of a staple line being disrupted is removed. I'm taking this from memory so if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. The good thing is it can all be reversed and put back together in about an hour if the need arises. Guest guest
I never saw that demonstration. Is it something new or something old. I was at clinic in May and again in July. I just remember the video of the procedure. It was very interesting.
