Guest guest
, It does sound like die-off to me. Many things can come out through the skin and sometimes the tongue. I would not panic yet and see what the next few days holds. He may feel kind of crappy for a few days as things die-off. Sometimes yeast does not show itself until we start killing it off. Charlene <>< Hello, My son is 2 and we are 1.5 months on SCD. He has never showed any obvious yeast sypmtoms before or even during the diet. Today I noticed that his tongue has a white coating. Is this a die-off thing? Is this an indication that he does have a yeast problem after all? (which we have not been sure about because he hasn't had any obvious indications) Can a white tongue be caused by anything else? Any ideas as to why it would suddenly show up like this? He is doing quite well, I just want to figure out what this indicates. The only dietary change is that we increased the amount of coconut oil he is getting and so I am wondering if that is triggering a new type of die-off? Thank you so much!!!! Guest guest
I don't know if it is die off or yeast overgrowth, but a white tongue is yeast of some sort. The white coating on a baby's tongue is called thrush, and it is a yeast overgrowth. Coconut oil is good for yeast, but you could also add in something like oil of oregano or olive leaf extract to combat the yeast. Just a few drops each day would be sufficient. You would want to rotate between these about every month, or the yeast will gradually build up an immunity to the one you are using all of the time. Guest guest
How do you get a child to take oil of oregano or olive leaf extract...the stuff I've seen is in droppers and it tastes awful
Guest guest
I put a couple of drops in either food or drink. Use something that has a fairly strong flavor anyway, or goes well with olive or oregano. If it is a drink, orange juice or grape juice works well even when very diluted. For food, you could do eggs, tomato sauce, stuff like that.
