Guest guest
I did call scriptech because I had used them before. I asked if they were familiar with this diet. The pharmacist said they make medicines for kids on various diets, but she never would name this diet. She said if I knew what the base was they could make it. I called Lee Silsby and talked with someone there and I am not sure if he can help either. I thought they compounded all of the medicines in to one. He said they cannot do that. He also said that the vitamins my daughter is taking would be too labor intensive to make and that it would not be cost effective nor covered by insurance. He directed me to their website to look at what scd legal vitamins they have available. In my previous email I listed what's she taking. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some guidelines for Pharmacies that I could just take to scriptech? Sheryl > > Hello, > > I will be starting the diet with my daughter tomorrow. Guest guest
You should have no problem getting ALA compounded by Silsby or Wellness. You can get it in a transdermal(lotion) form. My son is using that right now. You can also get a B complex compounded this way. You should be able to get the Vit C and Vit E over the counter in SCD legal form. I got GNC brand of ester C that is SCD legal. It's a pill, and I just crush it into a powder. I know Kirkman carries a COQ10. Have you checked to see if it is SCD legal? If you're not sure, call to ask them. They are very familiar with SCD, and know which of their products comply. I'm not familiar with your other meds and supps, so I can't give any direction on that. There is no way that a pharmacy could compound all of these meds into one substance. You'd need to give them a list of everything, and ask which ones they can compound to comply with SCD for you. Certainly a transdermal form is legal because it isn't ingested, so ask about that, too. Get everything that you can compounded. What can't be compounded to meet SCD requirements you will just have to weigh carefully the benefits of the med in its illegal form verses dropping it to see if the healing of SCD will off set that. Guest guest
Thank you, I did do some research. I like the idea of the transdermal kind and I will check in to that. As far as CoQ10 I feel we will need to stay on the one we are on. It is by tischon and I get it at www.epic4health.com the concentrated one. Supposed to be only CoQ10 with no additives. I checked on seizure medications and they don't come anyother way. The compounding pharmacist said what he would make would not be much different. So it looks like the vitamins I can get scd legal.
