Hello Heidi,

Thank you for the very thorough update. I do like to know how you

are keeping.

I'm so sorry about Cold Comfort Farm! Seriously, it's just awful

that patients should have to put up with that, although I realise it

was a temporaray difficulty. When anything like that happens to me I

just feel impotent with rage! I'm sure you're calmer. I hope the

cold will turn out to be the cause of the " slow " heartbeat but I

don't understand its significance.

The number of docs who don't know that lipase etc. don't elevate

with advanced CP, never ceases to amaze me. In fact, so many know

nothing at all about pancreatitis, period.

I'm most sorry about your pain management doctor. I know how well he

worked with you, how thorough he was and how much you felt you could

trust him. I'm sure you'll eventually find a way through this one

but it's yet another problem to have to work on, isn't it? Can you

actually discuss the problem with him before he leaves?

I didn't know you had carpal tunnel etc. Have you had it long? I

have pains in the thumb joints and sometimes the fingers. I assume

it's some sort of arthritis. I ought to ask to have it followed up.

I'm waiting for another bone density scan. If there's been a

deterioration, I'm going to be prescribed Evista. It provides some

of the protective advantages of HRT without the less pleasant or

healthy side-effects.

I hope things are settling for you and that the anti-climactic

feeling is diminishing.

I'm going to London tomorrow as my son is playing in a concet

(violin). I'll be back on Sunday evening. I've written a separate

update on my friend Sue, who is in hospital at the moment.
