Guest guest
Hi, Since I emailed this, we've been to 's new pediatrician's office. She said with kids sleeping on their backs these days, it is important to check the backs of their heads. She said if it is flat on one side, that is an indication they are sleeping on one side, so the implication being there could be tort. My understanding is that sometimes she looked for the plagio as a screening for tort. From things she said, it was obvious multiple of her patients had worn helmets. She also told me their heads were often still a little lopsided when the helmet was taken off, and she was confident 's head would round out a little more over the next year. Hopefully so! She also implied 's head is less lopsided then many babies getting the helmet off, but she could still see a little. She screened 's neck by seeing how far he can turn in either direction, and he passed. :|) Although her questioner also picked up on him not jumping yet, which is from the chest muscles still being tight from the tort. I like this new pediatrician much better than the old! Best, Kathy le wrote: Our ped did not notice the tort either, and when i asked about his tilt she only checked if he could turn both ways, which he could though restricted and still tilted plus he had developed plagio. And she dismissed both as no big deal. Both treated though at my insistance, I did not switch though until later when I asked about how his spine bending(which the PT noted) she said he looked perfectly fine to her! Too dismissive so we finally switched! I think its just hard for them to notice things or make importance of things if they are not severe. le
