Guest guest
You know the old adage; becareful what you wish for. The doc in Cicny, Dr. Jeffery s, will perform the tp with auto ict on the 16th of november. He does not seem to feel very good about it and still thinks that my pain is not solely from my panc. I asked him what else it could be and he said that everything was ruled out. He said that I had a 50% chance of being pain free. Well now its pretty much 100% of being painful. So I can take those odds. He also said that I had a 60% chance of becoming a diabetic. Which we already knew it to be 50/50 anyway. BEsides he is not the guy who isolates the iselt cells then reimplants them. His name is Dr. Horatio Rilos. I was hoping to have had a chance to meet him while I was down there. He has come to MUSC and spoken often so many people that I know; know him well, so to speak. So the actual number of cells I get will depend on him not the surgeon who removed the pancreas, Dr. s. Like Dr. said, (my doc) anybody can remove the pancreas but it takes a specialist in the field to isolate and reimplant as many live islet cells as possible to maintain insulin production. He has said the Dr. Rilos is the best in that field. Thats why I'm going the distance. Well I have tons to do between then and now, but I wanted to make sure you a;; knew as you have been so supportive and loving throughout this entire ordeal. I'll have to have some blood work done and testing and such, so I will be busy with that. I cant believe its finally happening. Be careful what you wish for right?
