Guest guest
Dear Autism Society of America On April 5, I watched Oprah Winfrey's TV hour about autism and on Good Friday The View did a rerun on ABC of the show on autism featuring Tony Braxton. I noticed the same doctor and some of the same families appeared on both shows. There was a significant oversight in no mention of dietary intervention as one of the treatment options for autism. I have participated since 2002 on pecanbread . a support group for The Specific Carbohydrate Diet which goes beyond the GFCF diet and has been having very positive results with ASD children in the past six years. There is a definite gut-brain connection which influences perception and behavior. Why is discussion of diet absent from these TV shows? Documenting family histories and quoting autism statistics consumes the majority of airtime where offering hope commands little time.
