Guest guest
Hi, Is it okay to make apple cider/juice in a juicer? Is this different then " pressed'? Guest guest
Yes, it's okay..... quite legal and a great idea. You want to use the type of juicer that strains out all (or nearly all) of the pulp, though. Patti apple cider Hi, Is it okay to make apple cider/juice in a juicer? Is this different then " pressed'? Guest guest
Hi Patti, Yes, sorry! I meant vinegar, my mistake. I have 4 trees of apples so I might give the vinegar a try, and the cider > Are you talking about making apple cider VINEGAR? We don't need to ferment apple juice to make it SCD legal. And we don't have to pasteurize homemade juice. Vinegar is legal, but I don't know any SCDers who make their own. > > Patti >
Guest guest
Great! Also, do I need to peel the apples before juicing them? Thanks, Belle Patti wrote: Yes, it's okay..... quite legal and a great idea. You want to use the type of juicer that strains out all (or nearly all) of the pulp, though. Not refrigerated. If it's not refrigerated, they've often added preservatives, which can be anything. Is this filtered or not? Guest guest
What I am using is organic 100% unfiltered, pasteurized juice with " no preservatives, additives or concentrates. " I assumed that since you can use bottled/canned grape juice, I could use bottled/canned apple as well (hence the no refrigeration until opened).
