Wow, ... this is great. I'd have to say this is not the first time I've

read of a very fast effect and such huge changes.... but no, it's not really

the usual thing around here.

It's amazing.... but you can never really know how he was feeling before. He may

have just gotten used to being in pain all the time and that was really clouding

everything. Feeling good tends to make a person really perk up! And yes, SCD

*can* relieve pain that quickly for some.

I remember one SCD mom reporting that her very verbal 7-yr-old daughter told her

one day.. " MOMMY! My tummy stopped hurting! I though it was supposed to hurt! "

Turns out she had pretty much gotten used to ALWAYS being in pain. She couldn't

remember a time when her tummy didn't hurt.... EVER. Kids are so incredible in

what they'll accept as " normal " for them sometimes.

I'll stop short of saying " Don't look a gift horse in the mouth " ! But... do try

to enjoy it. You probably feel like pinching yourself to see if it's just a

dream! Hope it continues to just get better and better.

4th day into diet

Good afternoon,

We are the 4th day into the diet. My son is 10 yrs old and

diagnosed with Crohn's (a year ago). Today, I noticed this HUGE

difference with him getting up from bed, getting himself dressed

(without ANY hassle - normally it is a fight to simply get him out

of bed) and getting downstairs. He literally ate his breakfast

(scrambled eggs) in about 10 minutes (again, this is VERY

abnormal). He did exactly what he needed to do in order to get out

of the house. In fact, he had 15 minutes left over from the time we

needed to leave.

When I picked him up from school he immediately asked if he could

have some chicken strips or some other type of snack.

Is it normal to see this type of result this quickly? I never

thought the diet would actually improve this type of behavior. He

usually never wanted to sit down to eat. He has always been VERY

slow at eating (and for that matter everything he does). I don't

know what to think - is this the diet??

Thank you for your help!
