1 month done and only minor improvement

My daughter has been wearing her helmet for one month now. She got the helmet

when she was five months old so we did start early. We had her one month

check-up yesterday and she showed very little improvement (there is improvement

just not much). The left side of her head is still pretty flat and her ears are

still asymmetrical. I have e-mailed my orthotist for her measurements which I

will post later but has anyone else with severe plagio only receive minor

improvement at the one month check up? Also has anyone in the St. Louis area

used Orthotics and Prosthetics Labs?

We banded at 8 months(severe classic plagio) and saw the most correction in that first month. Since my daughter was older, her growth slowed with age progression. She finished at 11 months and by then, her growth had slowed dramatically. Good luck!-AmyFrom: acohoon <abmatz3@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Tue, February 1, 2011 12:33:10

Once she goes through a growth spurt, you will see some improvement. Don't get upset, you will see improvement soon:)

Those numbers are very good for one month. I bet you'll get great improvement by

the end of treatment. No worries!

Thank you for the words of encouragment! I do feel a lot better knowing what

the measurements actually mean. I do have an additional concern, I recently

noticed some buldging above her ear. I contacted my ortho and she said this was

normal due to the ear cut outs and it will return to normal after the helmet is

off. Should I be concernced about this or is this indeed normal?
