Guest guest
Pecans seem to be the easiest. I don't think that anyone has ever found commerically made pecan butter though. You can make your own by blending 1 cup of pecans with 1 Tbsp. of oil in your food processor until smooth butter. Also, you could try macadamia butter or hazelnut butter. Those are also easier to digest, and I have seen those in the grocery stores. Meleah easy nuts which nuts are easiest to digest? i tried almond butter and that didn't seem to go over well at all. it was probably too early as well (day 8) but i want to proceed slowly and the easiest nut makes the most sense. thanks silvia daughter, 2 with eczema, SCD 3 weeks

Guest guest
yes i've seen this chart and this is what made me think nut butters might be OK now...we are eating the stage 2 fruits and veggies with no problems, and nut butter is listed under stage 2 as well. perhaps i need to stay at stage 2 for a long time though. think i'll wait until we're totally stable again and then give pecan butter a try. silvia daughter with eczema, SCD 3 weeks > > It was way too early for nut butter Sylvia, cehck out the bottom > of this page with a > suggested guideline for phasing into more foods: > > http://www.pecanbread.com/foodprep.html > > nut butters should not be intrduced for several weeks. > > Carol F. > SCD 7 years, celiac > > > > For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the > book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read > the following websites: > http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info > and > http://www.pecanbread.com > >
