Guest guest
It always happens on a Friday. You slip a disc or pinch the sciatic nerve in your back, the dog swallows an object or in my case you can't chew. My lower front teeth are crowns on a single shunt, cemented in. The glue has failed me twice this year. I jammed the teeth down tightly so I can be seen in public, sent an SOS to my dentist on his cell ( he was out of town at a resort) and planned a strategy to eat well and survive until I get glued together again ttomorrow,Monday. There is inspiration in adversity. I came up with tasty nourishing SCD food that doesn't need molars or incisors to speed it south. Here are a few dishes you don't have to chew: Portobello or Shitake Mushroom Soup Clean cut about a cup of mushrooms into pieces. Simmer in broth or water (1 .5 cups) until tender after adding many herbs like dried rosemary, sage, thyme, basil, oregano salt and pepper. Puree in a blender. Cauliflower " Mousse " Cook 1/4 head of cauliflower pieces in broth or water until tender. Drain and add 1 or 2 oz. cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon mustard, dried rosemary and mash or puree with hand blender. You can also add some yogurt. Any baked or broiled white flatfish. I baked turbot in tomato juice on parchment paper in a 400 oven for ten minutes. SCD Cheesecake Pineapple Almond Ice Cream I froze fresh pineapple pieces and placed them in the blank cone of the Omega Juicer, added yogurt, almond butter, vanilla and honey. Divine! Jello made with Just Juice Cherry Juice. Scrambled eggs Baked Pears Still it will be nice to get steak and salad back! Carol F.
