Guest guest
Be encouraged. If you want them to see why the diet is so important, just keep it up. I would guess in time they might see for themselves how your son has improved. My daughter also is in a special ed preschool. They stopped complaining about the restricted diet when they saw her go from non speaking to speaking, from being off balance, to balanced and running, from being non responsive, to very responsive. Now she sings, laughs, plays with other kids, runs. She still has lots of room for improvement but the change is dramatic and the school has seen it! They now help to make sure Abby doesn't get the wrong foods. They sometimes remove her from the class during " treats " (sometimes just by scheduling her speech or ot or pt at the same time). They are always happy with what I send her. Best of all, once she got over the hump of craving all those wrong foods, she is plenty happy eating her SCD food while everyone else eats something else. Keep it up... time and persistence will be your advocate. -- Sahr Abby (5 years old) SCD 8 months, seizure disorder
