Guest guest
I have heard of a few kids being allergic to the inside of the bands. I think some band manufacturers have a different material that can be used in these cases. I am not sure if Hanger does or not. Please let us know what you find out on Tuesday. Angie Hanger helmet giving her welts! Hi everyone,I was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience as me...we've had our 7 month old daughter in a Hanger brand helmet for about 3 weeks. After about a week of wearing it, my daughter developed a 1-2cm welt on the "flat side" of her head. We got it shaved down by our orthotist (but only after a week of discontinuing wearing it, since he was out of town), after which it took us about 5 days of increasing the wearing hours to get her comfortable wearing it for a full day/night. However, after a full 2 days/nights of wear, she has again developed a welt (this time on the back of her head). I've removed the helmet, and we happened to have a follow-up appt scheduled for Tuesday, which means she will again be out of the helmet for a few days....I'm starting to lose confidence in the helmet. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this happen? Will I have to continually go to the orthotist to get the inside shaved down? Hanger was the only option in our area, but i would have preferred a DOC band even though it would have been almost triple the price of our hanger. Thanks for any input.
