Guest guest
Hi, I've never posted before. My son is three and has autism. We are looking into all of our dietary options and am considering SCD but am concerned about high oxalates. My son is currently GF/CF/SF and we are limiting sugars and high oxalates. I have come across two questions from my research and was wondering if you could give me the answers from an SCD perspective. 1. Is 100% pure vegetable glycerin legal? Would there be any harm in using this product if it is legal? 2. Is filtered or unfiltered honey better? Thank you. I have learned so much from this list serve already and I thank you all for that. Guest guest
Hi Tammy.... welcome to the list, Be sure to read a couple of the other messages that were posted today in response to someone else's concerns about oxalates. Glycerin is legal when a small amount is used as a supplement additive.... not to be used as a sweeter. Unfiltered honey is not recommended on SCD because the tiny grains of pollen that can be present in it tend to cause irritation and problems for many with gut issues. Buy clear, filtered honey. Guest guest
Tammy, Welcome to the list. Filtered honey is what you want because the pollen can be very irritating to the gut. You would also want pasturized rather than raw honey, but make sure that it is pure honey. Have you read the research on oxilates and Vit K2? Patty is the expert on this list with that. You can do this with SCD with not much difficulty at all. Parents see good results with this, but you must understand how all of it works before just jumping in and giving your child Vit K2. Patty, maybe you can fill her in? Meleah 100% pure vegetable glycerin and honey questions Hi, I've never posted before. My son is three and has autism.
