I wrote in requesting info about birth control the other day but got no answers....I'm sure that everyone thought that someone else would answer but no one did!! If someone could shed some light on whether or not I need to stop taking the pills before surgery, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!! >> My understanding is that you cannot take birth control pills post-op and must find another route of prevention. It may be on the main page under the " search " icon-but I have not checked. My littermate was on them post-op and it really screwed up her periods. She bled for about 6 weeks, and lost alot of blood, whereas pre-op she never had a problem. I went on them at 5 months post-op(for rosacea, not for birth control,'cause Flo told me not to have sex.) I didn't have any bleeding problems, but got alot more " hot-headed " than usual, and it slowed my wt. loss. I think hormones play a bigger part in wt. control/emotions than we think. Anyway-I still ramble- you need to find another route.IUD,vasectomy,tubal,abstaining....yeah,right,etc. Good luck ! Osler
