Guest guest
1. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with " gas " from eating eggs - my whole family suffers from this. The only thing that helps that we have found, is eating the eggs within the first 2 days of purchasing them. We live a long ways from a grocery store so that means eggs once a week ? - Eggs are the one thing our son already likes and can cook for himself in the Intro diet & stage one. We've been tested for allergies / intolerances and we are fine with eggs. We found out in Dec 06 he is Gluten (both genetic strands) and extremely allergic/sensitive to Soy. 2. I'm used to going to the grocery store once a week at the most and sometimes every other week. Nature / Natural stores are even further away - up to an hour drive one way. How do others accommodate this issue of buying / eating fresh / SCD legal and of food stores being so far away ? I guess I could make the commitment to driving to the store every other day after work as long as it was not forever, but with the cost of gas and wear / mileage on the vehicle I'd love another suggestion. We've not actually started the SCD diet - we are weaning off of illegals - replacing with SCD legals - almost done as there are only a few items left in the house that are illegal. Will do the intro soon. W. - Zachariah age 12; dyslexic/dysgraphic/adhd -
Guest guest
" sloppy eggs " tend to give us the most gas. Scrambled is the least gassy for us, in the past anyway, as hard boiled also gives us gas. - I'll try " organic " eggs and see if that helps. Hopefully when our guts heal this will not be an issue. Another question - I've heard that one should not eat eggs every day or an allergy could develop - I've heard this about nuts too (that you should vary your nuts or an allergy could develop) I know this should not be an issue when the gut is healed but what about in the beginning? In the beginning should I limit his egg intake to at least a day or two a week of no eggs ? W. - Zachariah - age 12, dyslexic, dysgraphic, ADHD tendencies. We are considering growing our own vegies to save money and be able to have fresh and organic when we want to eat them. We are taking the approach that SCD is a life style change. My naturopath has suggested only eating sloppy eggs and not hard cooked as we have problems with sulphur gas. . ._,___
