Guest guest
Hey all, Well after 4 and a half months in the hospital, Jodie is finally well enough to be at home! Finally! Although, she was sent to rehab for two weeks, she was not receiving any physical therapy so after 3 days there, we had her discharged. She is doing very well. She has two nurses who come to the house every day. One is for her IV antibiotic transfusion. The other nurses changes her wound dressings. She is doing very well. Eli and I, her parents and aunt, our church family, and our friends are all very pleased and excited that she has finally made it home. She will get 10 more days of antibiotics and the dressing changes will continue until they are no longer necessary, maybe about a month. She will continue to recuperate and regain her strength at home and is plannig to return to work at the beginning of January. She will return sooner, if she feels she's up to it and if she gets too 'bored' at home. She is not planning on rushing back to work too soon, however. If anything, I think she'll be ready to go back before January, but it's totally up to her. She knows best how she feels and what she is capable of. She is eating normally, just slightly different than normal. Smaller meals are the biggest change, since her stomach has shrunken significantly after nearly 4 months of not eating. Jodie has been home since Friday the 15th. Her parents celebrated their 33rd anniversary yesterday, so that was a nice 'present' for them. Thank you again to everyone who has supported Jodie and I during this long, worrisome, and tiresome ordeal. I guess I won't be sending many more updates now. Hopefully, noone will miss them. I am glad that I don't have to send anymore because she has made it so far in recovering from this. Hopefully, she will not have another pancreatic attack. Her gall bladder was operated on twice to remove all the gallstones. When she is stronger, in several months, she will have surgery to have her gall bladder removed. Finally! We'll be taking extra good care of Jodie, you can be sure of that. Jodie and I will, that is. The reality of losing my partner at the age of 29 was quite real and something I never imagined I would experience. I hope to not repeat any such instance with any other loved one for quite a long while. I've had my fill of this business, thank you very much. My best to everyone. Take care of yourselves. I wish good health to you all! peace, melissa -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://promo.mail.com/adsfreejump.htm
Guest guest
, I am so glad that Jodie has made it home. Sorry this is so late, but I've been having problems with my left eye that has made reading somewhat difficult. I just wanted to say I'm happy that Jodie is home and hope she continues to recover as time goes by. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
