Guest guest
If you are thinking of trying raw fruits, I'd start with something soft like maybe papaya or mango(pealed, of course). I would've said pears, but obviously that wouldn't work very well. Now, why is he only eating applesauce and eggs for four months? There are definitely other SCD foods that he could've started by now. Meats could be beef, lamb, or pork if the chicken was a problem. Cooked veggies could be carrot, acorn or butternut squash, zucchini, spinach, ect. Meleah 4 mos on SCD: Too many cooked apples & Introducing raw fruit questions my son is almost 3yrs old and has been on SCD 4 mos. he has had all solid bm's since day 3 of the diet. I am not sure how to tell if his gutt is healed. is it too soon to introduce raw fruit? he has been eating exclusively applesauce & eggs (we sprinkle a few raisins on top) because we had to eliminate pears and poultry from his diet after we found out he developed allergies to them. i am worried that he might build up antibodies to the apples & eggs since this is all he eats. we are now able to slowly reintroduce chicken, pears and oranges very slowly and on a limited basis. so we are still going to have to rely on applesauce and eggs. Guest guest
He's eating ONLY applesauce and eggs? And raisins? This is definitely not a healthy balance. No vegetables at ALL? For what it's worth, raisins are a very advanced food (all dried fruit is advanced) and would probably come AFTER some raw fruits. I would cautiously give raw (ripe) peach, pear, papaya or perhaps strawberries.... things like that.... before giving any dried fruits. But, to me, it sounds like you've not made much progress with gut healing if he is not eating a wider variety of foods by now. It would be my best advice not to start raw foods yet. How do you know he's " developed allergies " to those foods you mentioned? Test results? Or observable reactions?
