Guest guest
Hi all! Maybe this has been discussed before, but I am wondering..do any of you suffer from upper left side pain that is to the extreme? I was in the hospital over the weekend again, I had an attack that didn't respond to any of my meds, including Zofran for nausea injected IM. I had to go to the hospital, my husband couldn't stand to see me writhe in pain anymore. I got stuck 9 times before the flight for life nurse came in and tried 2 more times to get an IV going. By then I was sobbing/begging for relief (only I didn't have any tears I was so dehydrated) they gave me a shot in my hip, but didn't help. I hurt at a 10 all night long, only to find out Sunday morning that the PC pump wasn't working at all, wasn't even getting a baseline. If I hadn't felt so rotten, I would have made a real stink, but I(am still)feeling really bad, that I couldn't even say anything (but secretly so relieved that I wasn't losing my mind, or that I was getting used to pain meds and that they weren't helping anymore!) So, anyone else with extreme side pain after an attack? I would guess that it is the pancreas swollen pushing against the ribs, but when I suggested that to my doctor, I, of course, get the " incredulous " look(I love that word, it so describes the look!) I wanted to call my doctor, but I feel it would be a waste of my time and his, as I don't think anything can be done until I have my next Celiac Block done on November 8. Thanks in advance for any insight. Hugs, Suzi Colorado
