Guest guest
The tummy aches and bloating say that there's more to this than the eczema. A bloated belly is a sign of yeast overgrowth in the gut. You should not use the intro diet for more than five days, and that is only if diharea persists. If she doesn't have diharea, then two days is sufficient. After that, begin to introduce one new food at a time...giving a couple of days between food introduction. Make sure that the veggies and fruits are all pealed, seeded, and cooked. Good that you've seen the chart on pecanbread.com. It gives you an idea of what foods are usually easiest to digest. Keep a food journal for every day. Write down what she eats that day, and any other pertinent info like eczema changes(good or bad), bowel movemnts(consistency, color changes, ect), behavioral changes(irritability, lethargy, ect). The eczema is the most obvious symptom to you right now, but you'll begin to see that other symptoms are there, too. There are some other natural things that you can try to help...natural antifungals and antibacterials. For many, SCD alone is enough to clean up the eczema problem. Keep us posted. Meleah SCD 05/06 iel 3.5yrs. ASD, Ethan 5yrs., Mark 20mths., both NT a little bit of confusion we're on day 2 of the intro diet and i'm confused as to when to introduce new foods. i do have the chart from pecanbread.com. my daughter's problem is eczema that is a result of food intolerance/ leaky gut. eczema takes a long time to clear up, according to her acupuncturist. she has normal bowel movements, with occasional tummy aches and big belly. questions: do i stay on the INTRO diet until the eczema clears completely? if i do proceed with introducing Stage 1 foods, what criterion do i use for moving to the next stage--perhaps just that her eczema doesn't worsen? how long do i give a new food to react? i read someone say don't introduce more than 2 new foods per week. lastly, is it a bad idea to start up my coconut yogurt (with homemade coconut milk) again so early? i didn't notice a reaction before, but i heard coconut is for after you've been on the diet for 6 months. i'm rationalizing that since she doesn't have diarrhea or any of the more severe conditions of the typical person on this diet, she might be able to handle it. thanks again! i'm really learning so much on this email list. i'm so grateful to all of you taking the time to help us newbies. silvia daughter (2) with eczema, scd since yesterday!
