I'm still getting questions while driving about our bumper sticker!

Timely; however mine is running out, or wearing out--how do I get

AWARENESS MONTH things to ponder

Hi! This is going out to all members of the National CF Awareness

Committee (NCFAC) and 3 CF email support groups.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in reading this as

well, feel free to pass it on.

I will try to be brief.

1. Senate - If you have not contacted your state senators in

Washington, DC to urge them to co-sponsor Senate Resolution S298

declaring May as National CF Awareness Month, please do so now.

Anyone in any state can do this.

2. President - Letters to the president are on their way asking for a

presidential proclamation declaring May as CF Awareness Month. You

may still send a letter to the White House, although email is

probably better.

3. Merchandise - New ideas needed for awareness items! Our shirts

right now feature Barbi's candle and the words: " CF Awareness Week in

memory...in hope...dispelling the darkness " . They are purple, yellow

and white on black shirts. We will have to design a new one that just

says CF Awareness or Cystic Fibrosis Awareness, because we are going

from a week to a month. If you have an idea, sketch, anything, please

send it asap to me: lenora@...

4. Existing T-Shirt Stock - I think we will offer the t-shirts we

have now for half price. They are very nice, but we should make room

for new ones that don't say " week " on them.

5. International Event - The CFF asked me if we (the NCFAC) were

planning any joint events with other countries - Canada? England?

Australia? If anyone can think of a simple way to honor CF Awareness

Month with other countries, please write or post it to the message

board on the awareness site. www.cfawareness.org

6. Awareness Ribbons - in the past, we have hand made purple and

yellow ribbons and attached a ribbon rose to the center. These are

lovely but time consuming. I am working with ribbon manufacturers to

see if we can get a good deal on just the ribbon roses for people to

wear. They are small, and even guys will wear them (I think). They

will come with a safety pin attached to a small card explaining the

65 roses story. Of course, you can still make the more elaborate ones!
