Guest guest
On the intro diet I was diluting my grape juice to 50% with water and have tended to drink it weaker since...more like 1 part juice to 3 parts water. I make my own apple juice and dilute that to 50%. Is there a rule of how much I should dilute by? I don't want to be taking more fruit sugar than is recommended. I still have a yeast problem to conquer! I expect this is covered in the BTVC book (which I ordered on Feb 9th and still hasn't been sent!) TIA Anne. Guest guest
Anne, You've started the diet.... but you don't have the book yet? It's really not advisable to begin SCD without having read Breaking the Vicious Cycle. Diluting by 50% or more is fine. Beginners need to dilute at least by 50%. Patti How much should I be diluting juices? On the intro diet I was diluting my grape juice to 50% with water and have tended to drink it weaker since...more like 1 part juice to 3 parts water. Guest guest
Patti, Thanks for the dilution info I ordered the BTVC book along with a McCandless one from Amazon on the 9th Feb. One or other of the books is holding up the order - 4 or 5 weeks until order is dispatched they say, so I'm still waiting. I decided to try the intro diet and see how I go. I can honestly say I didn't take into account what's recommended, I just wanted to make a start. First stage foods are VERY much in season here right now and available from my own organic garden so I'm making the most of them. I did the intro diet, as I understood it from the website, for 4 days and I'm now enjoying some stage one foods. If I receive the book and find I've done it incorrectly, made glaring errors or completely misinterpreted (I followed it from the website) then I'm prepared to go back and start again.... Anne. - chicken broth, eggs, chicken, beef, bananas, apples, baby zuchinni, spinach, carrots (so many carrots!), grape juice, apple juice, water. *Feeling good! And looking forward to receiving my book > Diluting by 50% or more is fine. Beginners need to dilute at least by 50%. > > Patti > >

I do the same with wine. Carol F. SCD 7 years, celiac
