Guest guest Posted February 10, 2005 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 Laurie, I would be contacting your credit reporting companies also (experian etc) and reporting a possible fraud. Just in case she has managed to get hold of your SSN also. Once you contact these agencies about a possible fraudulent matter, they will send you out a copy of your credit report for you to check if anything is on there that shouldn't be. They will also put a 90 day note on your report that anything going through your credit report, you will have to be contacted about to ensure that it is actually you authorizing this. It is well worth the few minutes on the phone to do this. Sorry this has happened to you, and I have not heard of anything like this being done through health insurance either. Have you told the hospital about this? So they may do their own investigations into their staff? or is this something the Health Insurance Company will organize also?
