Guest guest
Hi, I contacted Medic Alert about the Healthkey pricing. They tell me it hasn't been released as yet, so pricing is still up in the air. However it is being given an approximate launch date of May and will be approximately $70-75 for medic alert members. Membership is $35 per year. They are taking peoples' name, address and phone numbers to contact them when they are ready to sell these keys, whether you are a member or not. I gave them my name today. Regards, Ward PAI Administration Support Staff dceward@...
Guest guest
Hi Folks, I have my 2 cents worth to add on this topic. My alternative solution to this is to use my Palm Pilot to carry this type of info with me at all times. I do the majority of the paper work on my big Lap top and then just hot sync it to the handheld. All of my Doctors love it. I have all Medication (dose, strenght and who prescribed); list of all Dr, address and phone #s ; listing of all dxs and dates. Also all surgeries with dates place and Dr involved. And a page with insurance info and emergency contacts. I also keep all appoints in the date book portion. As appointments approach I list concerns, questions and etc in the PDA. My primary care Dr loves it. I just say: " Here is my laundry list for this visit " . That Dr has his PDR on a similar PDA. Sometimes we compare notes on who's PDAs does what !!. At the moment he is a bit jelous because my is newer and came with a " hard case " !! HAHA I bet by my next appointment he will have a new one. Also for those who are diabetic>>> I always take my meter in to the visit and check my BGs as the nurse does to make sure my meter is on track. I am now using the ONE TOUCH Ultra Touch. I just let the Dr hold the metter and he checks all the wonderful meter info. Word of warning tho about using a PDA make sure it is backed up to your computer and also keep hard copies of everything. I killed my old PDA on Christmas night (Dropped it on it's head and broke it's neck (oops meant screen) Had no way to acsess all the info it held and had not hot sync due to my own laziness!! But my new one has the capability of downloading Photo's. So of course I have pix of the Grands and my pets !! Love that part !! If anybody has questions about my " system " just let me know. Thanks all, Love, Cyndi PS: I will be glad to get the Medic Alert " key " I also have a generic memory key from Wal Mart and never thought of using it for that !!!
