Guest guest
Oops! I must have left that part out! Yes, you need to pierce it several places with a knife (probably goes in easier than a fork) and it works for any kind of winter squash. I would imagine smaller ones need to bake a shorter time. One thing I have found with the butter nut is that the round end will be done before the narrow end. Be sure your knife goes in the narrow end super easy, like slicing through butter almost, otherwise you'll probably find it's harder than you think. , mom to > > > > > > These are two items that I've never used in my cooking before. > > > > > > Can anyone tell me how to prepare a butternut squash - and how to cook > > > it? > > > > > > Can someone share the recipe for squash buttons? > > > > > > What do I do with an avocado? They sell two brands of peeled butternut squash cut into long chunks, easy to cube or slice thin for squash chips. Many stores will cut the swhole acorn or butternut quash in half for you. Watch out for Whole Foods as they charge extra for this. Frozen squash comes in a solid block but will only make pureed squash. I used to put whole squash in the microwave for 2 minutes but gave my " nuker " away six years ago and have lived happily ever after without it's humming and microwave radiation as I have electrical sensitivity.
