Guest guest
My earlier post on this was incomplete THE EFFECT OF INJECTIONS OF SODIUM PHOSPHATES AND SODIUM HIPPTJRATE UPON THE EXCRETION OF ACID AND AMMONIA BY THE KIDNEY. The protocols of experiments on Dogs 3, 7, and 8 show results which agree with those of Cushny, indicating that disodium phos- phate increases the amount of acid in the urine of dogs. In all these experiments, the increase in titratable acid plus ammonia is very nearly equivalent to the phosphate injected, showing that Cushny’s reaction goes to completion; that is, if ammonia is to be considered as representing an equivalent amount of urinary acid.
