Guest guest
It could be a good idea if everyone who wanted to could post a message about what works for them with nausea..noting if it is mild, heavy or severe. Then it could be put on the database here, and people could have a reference to it and try the various ideas, and hopefully find one that suits them also. Guest guest
Zofran tablets for the beginnings of nausea. Zofran injectable I could give myself when it gets really bad really quick. Hospital uses Zofran or Compazine on me. I have Compazine suppositories, but they don't seem to work like the IV does. I don't consider the meds working unless I stop throwing up completely...anything else is still misery anyway I look at it. Guest guest
Wow, I didn't know there was a injectable Zofran we could get. How expensive is that? I take the Zofran ODT, it works instantly but doesn't last to long. I too have the companzine tablet, they work pretty well if you take them every 4 hrs. but I have still vomited on them. Guest guest
When I was the hospital a couple weeks ago, I got Zofran for the first time. It worked very well. I'm told that Zofran is commonly given to cancer patients. When they sent me home, I got a prescription for Compazine. Haven't needed it yet, though. -stan

Guest guest
For mild nausea I use chewing gum, peppermint oil capsules, soda or ritz crackers, OTC med called Nauzene, toothpaste (to get offending tastes out of my mouth when it is due to food) For more intense nausea I use Zofran, 4mg, 1 to 2 tablets. My doc prescribes enough for three a day and instructed me to take them when the sensation first occurs as it is works much better to prevent a full blown case of nausea and vomitting than once you get the actual feeling that you are going to throw up. She advised that once you reach that stage, zofran isn't as effective. Laurie (, I have a bunch of lemon balm in my garden too but I planted it for its mosquito repellant properties and was unaware of its GI affects - I feel as if I found an undiscovered treasure! too bad that it is gone for the season though)
Guest guest
Hi, For mild nausea I use ginger crystals or drink something very cold. For severe, I take sometimes Zofran, or Dramin, or Motilium. I do not like Dramin so much, because I have drowsiness. Zofran it's a little bit expensive but is the best. By the way when I have a nasty one bout (really heavy) I use to go the hospital for IV medication. In my last surgery as I have always real bad nausea from general anesthesia, in the pre operation room, the anesthesiologist gave me IV Zofran plus Dramin plus glucose. This combo worked very well. By the way sometimes I have nausea suddenly and do not have time to do nothing... Now I'm much more expert and always have with me ginger, for emergence. One time I vomited in the bus, and another time when I was walking on, another in the car with my brother, it's a very strange situation. You can do nothing!
