Guest guest
I have not used it but do know the gut has to be good and healed prior to trying it. Studies have been done that shows Naltrexone blocks the action of opiods receptors. Studies show improvements in socialization, eye contact, general happiness. Typically used for treatment for substance use disorders - alchoolism and herion addiction. Dr. Bruce Semon has used this drug along with his anti-yeast diet and nystatin. Guest guest
There is a lady in my neighborhood with an nearly completely recovered ASD son age four who started it in the fall of last year. So far, she hasn't noticed anything different with him. That being said, he is indistinguishable as an ASD child in a group of typical children now. Feel free to email me off list if you'd like me to inquire for more details from her though. Guest guest
We began using low-dose naltrexone cream, coincidently, the same week we began SCD in July 06. We saw dramatic results for about 4 weeks. Jack was generally happier, seemed to tolerate vestibular OT excercises better (spinning), his eye contact was great, and he almost stopped turning his eyes from side to side. Because we did both at the same time, we don't know to what to attribute the improvment. So, we continue with both. After the 4 month honeymoon, things, for us, have settled back into pre SCD, pre naltrexone behaviors, with moderate improvement overall. Good luck to you. Guest guest
Hi, We've been doing LDN since July 06 and have noticed more appropriate social behaviors, he's easier to engage, happier, and has more focus. (Of course, this could also be attributed to a healthy gut!) We did not start it because of the opiate-blocking hypothesis but to help regulate the immune system. My son is one of the " never sick " kids and the very few times he was sick, especially when he had a fever, his autism symptoms would greatly diminish. Within a few weeks of beginning the LDN, my son had his first runny nose in years! Guest guest
Tracey, I thought you'd dropped off the face of the earth. When did he start the LDN? We ditched the Valtrex because nothing happened after a month on it. Now we're trying some viral enzymes along with some other natural antivirals.
