Guest guest
THANK YOU for sharing your story...even if it is in chapter form (actually, this is a very effective way to do it - keeps me wanting more!) I am very interested to read about your experience....I think that it can help me with my decision making process. I have to admit, I am somewhat shocked at the level of damage that your surgeon found when he actually looked at the organ itself. And I am very interested to read what he thought about it and the take home lesson for the rest of us.....does this mean that even ERCPs and EUSs can show normal pancreas tissue and ducts even when there is significant organ damage? This is a little unsettling to me, to say the least, and makes me wonder how much faith in the " normal " or " minimal changes " that are stated in these reports. Does your surgeon think that the divisum is responsible for the head calcification? which is contrary to a lot of published data that state that divisum affects the dorsal (tail) of the pancreas and that the head shouldn't be as involved......that is, if the tail is normal and the head is not, then divisum probably isn't to blame. But I am wondering if this is just intuitive conclusions rather than based on cold hard facts....... Very interesting. Can't wait to read the other installments of your experience. I hope you are recovering well! Laurie
