Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just want to explain why I haven't been around as much lately. Just now I'm acting head at school as the head himself is about to have an operation. I think I mentioned this a while ago. He may be off school for around a month. This really does give me a lot to do just now so I have had evenings when I haven't visited the board. This hasn't happened before except when I've been away on holiday. I still care about everyone and have tried this evening to read as many posts as poss. Take care, all of you! With warm wishes, Fliss (UK)
Guest guest
Hi Fliss, I always enjoy reading your posts, even if I do not respond I end up getting information or good advice from you. Your job sounds so interesting and I have so many questions concerning the educational system in your country as I find it very confusing to equate your semesters, " qualifying " exams and even grade levels to our system. Sometime when you are not so busy, I would love to pose more specific questions....like what are A levels and graduating with a first in a subject and how are semesters broken up: I read about michalmas term (I think) and then the whole confusion over private vs public school education. From things that I read, it seems that it is more desireable to have a public education than a private one? Oh well, I guess off topic...but something that has been bugging me a little when I read my favorite author and she confuses me with her references to the educational system in the UK...... Hope the new / additional responsibilities do not over tax you or your husband! Laurie
