Hey groupies!!

I had to take in to the dr. last Thursday. Things just

didn't seem right. Her energy level was down, she was coughing from

her toes etc... So he put her on septra and prednisone. Three days

later she was feeling better. I asked him if he had a pill that

worked that good on " attitudes " . Anyway, I received her culture

results and for the second time in a row, it came back with no PA!!

Woohoo!! Now, do I get excited? I am a little reluctant to trust the

lab there at the Naval Hospital. This goes back 13 years when my son

was born in distress and spent 10 days in NICU for spinal meningitis

and pneumonia...story for another time. So I guess you could say I

am celebrating cautiously :) Am I right to assume that PA could

still be present despite the culture? The only way to really tell

is with a bronchoscopy correct? Should I ask the doctor for this

procedure? Is it necessary? Or do we just stay on Tobi indefinitly?

I completely trust our cf doc, but I am hesitant when it comes to

keeping her on Tobi, especially when the PA is not there....or is

it??

I also wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed that there has been

a " twin boom " on the board. When I joined in October, I remember

seeing only one or perhaps two families with twins. Truly

fascinating. To the families of twins here, you have my utmost

respect!

Welcome to everyone who has joined recently!!

e, mom to 10 wcf and Ian 13 nocf
