Guest guest
Has anyone had gestational diabetes and then had pancreatitis a few years later? I was just wondering if there is a connection between the two. Guest guest
No Angie, there is no connection between the two that I could find. Have you had any other problems with diabetes other then during your pregnancy? I am curious about your gastric bypass tho. How old where you when you had it? Was it successful? Did you say your gallbladder was removed at the same time? You know so many people worry about how they got cp. Myself included. My main concern has always been for my children; will they get this. It took me a while to figure out it did not matter how I cot this awful condition but how I deal with it. Anything that we have or had can and may affect our kids. So cp is gonna have to be something they will have to watch out for. It doesn't make one bit of difference how I got this disease. What matters is how I deal with it. I hope your feeling well, as well as you can. At least the weather is great. Warmly, christine > Has anyone had gestational diabetes and then had pancreatitis a few years > later? Guest guest
Its not so much that I worry how people see me deal with this situation but how I feel inside. It would worry me endlessly how I got this. Keep me up at night. I used to drink, alot, and I had a lot of quilt that it may have been from that. They said it wasn't because I did not drink a lot for a long time. When things atarted getting hard at home and with my mom I would hide myself in a bottle of wine, and for about 10 months I did exactly that every day almost. It was the diagnosis that made me quite and I have not had a drink since. I am sure it did add to worsen my condition tho along with my body's physiology. Congrats on the weight loss, that is fabulous. I have always been a " large framed " woman, full figured..lol. But since I got cp I have lost a ton. I could stand to drop another 20 pounds tho and definetly need to tone up. I was told I was malnurished as well. My hair turned this hideous orange color. Like those poor 3rd world nation little kids with the swollen belly and bright orange hair. Its called kwashiorkor. Really surprised a lot of folks, a middle aged, over weight, RN mother of 3 with a disease of malnurishment... who knew. I am doing so much better these days tho and that is wonderful. I hope and pray every day for each and every one of us to feel strong and healthy as well. Sometimes I feel quilty for that when I know all of ya'll are still suffering so much. I find it difficult to post because of that and have thought about leaving the group. I just wish every body could be feeling well too. I have told my doc about the group and have asked him to share it with his other panc pts. This group has helped me so much and for that I wll always be grateful. I hope that in some small way I have returned that favor. Take care Angie and I wish you all the best.
