Guest guest
Dear Claudi ( & ), I do hope that you enjoy this recipe...it's supposed to be " Healthy " as well since the dietician at the Hawaii Medical Assn revised it to balance out the fats and carbos & had it published in their fall healthy living issue. Re: the chili paste....I forgot that you don't live in Hawaii where there's lots of access to asian products...! Due to Hawaii's large asian population, there are asian grocery isles & products sold at our large supermarket chains like Safeway, Longs Drugs, Costco etc.... I read the ingredients on my bottle of chili paste and learned that it contains chili peppers, distilled vinegar, and a little bit of sugar & salt. So, if you are unable to locate some kind of asian chili sauce, perhaps you might consider 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of ground chili pepper or cayenne pepper or chili powder... OR you might consider 1/4 teaspon of pepper flakes (y'know like that kind that Pizza hut gives you in those little take out foil packets). The red pepper is just to give it a little " kick..... " If you like it really spicy, you may go ahead and taste your marinade mixture to see if you'd like to add MORE of the hot red peppers. Have fun experimenting with the " hot " part of this recipe....let me know how it turns out!! Aloha, karen From: RCColloran@... Subject: Re: : Thai Kabobs Recipe for / Thank you - , thanks so much for the recipe. I can't wait to try it. I have one question. I have never seen chili paste. LOL What is it and where do I find it? ( Of course I've never looked for it) Maybe I'll have to come to Hawaii to buy some. LOL Thanks again.
