Hello Listmates,

Just a quick question, Luke (3y/o ASD) has been on the diet for about

3 weeks and I was wondering if Papadini Hi-Protein Lentil Bean Pasta

is legal on the SCD? The ingredients say lentil flour, salt, and

baking soda. I haven't contacted the company yet to find out if these

are truly the only ingredients, I figured I'd ask you all first. I

know that lentil beans are legal, but only prepared in a specific

way. Luke loves this pasta, he used to eat it all the time while

GF/CF. I appreciate the help, Kim

Sorry Kim but many GFCF items such as lentil flour are not used on SCD as the

starch is

too hard to digest. Here is a reference to several comments on the subject on

Elaine

I suggest you try peeling zucchini, cutting it in vertical strips with a

vegetable peeler and

sauteeing it in butter or oil. It will become translucent and taste very good

with tomato

sauce (SCD version) and/or melted cheese.

Kim,

Three weeks i much too soon to introduce lentels. Beans(lentels fall in this

category) should not be introduced before six months according to Elaine in

BTVC. Certainly, it is possible that some people could be ready for them a

little soon. Our son was able to handle lentels at five months into SCD, but

only on occassion. You definitely need to give a few months of healing before

you try this. However, out of curiosity for our use, what brand is this, and

what type of grocery store did you find this in(regular, health food)? Thanks.

This pasta wouldn't be legal on SCD, even if someone was ready for lentils.

There's no way we can know if the proper SCD soaking and cooking procedure was

followed. Sorry.
