In Canada our wines are all identified for sugar content by numbered ratings. Another consideration could be a sensitivitiy to the amines in red wine, although we are told red wine has newly discovered health assets. There are countless brands of wines but the category names such as " Cabernet, Merlot, Sauterne, Chardonnay etc. take their categorical names from the grape used.
