Guest guest
Trudy: You need to talk to Dr. R about when to go off any medication you are taking so you will have a " safe " surgery. Christy California
Guest guest
You all are toooooooo funny! Look out for " blowouts " on those rare occassions. Citrus Spray is good one, helps clear the air on the spot. Sande
Guest guest
Hello to everyone! I have been lurking for several weeks - and working on my packet. I have been approved by my insurance (Aetna) and am now waiting for my dr's letter to finish up my packet. I am hoping to dance the week of Thanksgiving or thereabouts.. I am so happy for all you that have been approved and got your dates this week. I am so jealous!! I haven't written up to this point - but - this one has my attention!!! Stinkies!! Now you all have me worried!! Is this a side effect that we haven't heard of up until now?? Why is it so much worse after surgery?? And if you don't want to get any more descriptive than you have on the list - please email me privately. Guest guest
Flo, I've been on the diet medication Xenical for the past 4 months. you wanna talk about hurried trips to the bathroom, or squirts, baby I've had em. This surgery must do the same thing, because mine are worse if I eat any fatty foods. I really need to find out when I should stop taking this medication.. No one has told me this, and they don't have anything in the manual about xenical. Anyone out there been thru this? Guest guest
Hi Margaret: This was a concern for another post-MGB-er and I. So we divided up the list and wrote to people asking them point blank if this was a side affect of the surgery and if this was their situation. We got quite a few answers. Most said they didn't know what we were talking about..this was not an issue for them. A few said it was. We were concerned about...well...farting...and about...well...poop. We figured, it would be a real problem to go anywhere or to visit friends if this was a problem. Apparently it's not one that everyone has. I will say that frequency has been an occassional problem for me but only if I eat fatty foods. When I watch my fat intake, everything is very normal. If I eat a lot of fatty foods, then the next day I know that I will need to be closer to a bathroom...due to increased trips and possibly hurried trips. So. Stinkies is not a problem for everyone. It hasn't been for me. But frequency has been. We're all different and it seems to vary with the diet.
