These foods are all legal.... but might not be advised for someone brand-new to

SCD. How long has he been on the diet?

Recipe Idea and Question

Would these food combinations be considered okay?

Zucchini and carrots cut into slices, dipped in egg then almond flour and

sauteed in

olive oil? Maybe some grated cheddar cheese over it?

Our son doesn't have any egg allergies.

Thanks!

This will be our son's second week on the diet. Too soon for these foods?

Fried foods are not ideal so early in the diet. Boiled, baked or steamed would

be best for carrots and zucchini. For some, nut flours need to be started later.

It kind of depends on what his symptoms are.... what the status of his gut

health seems to be.

You have to remember that as one starts SCD, and bacterial colonies in the gut

die-off, they leave behind tender new tissue, that needs to be treated gently as

it heals and develops a new lining or " biofilm " of healthy, good flora. All

foods should be as easy to digest as possible.

Of course, if your child is extremely picky and you're just trying to come up

with some way to get him to eat something, I can understand that..... but

there's a delicate balance there. If we push too far, too soon, with food

preparation.... it can end up making us have to take a few steps backward later.

Simple..... slow and steady is best.

So.... what kinds of changes have you seen? How are BMs?
