OK. I attended this monthly " Time for Mom " event that I frequent. Each month

there is a different topic that a speaker lectures on to the group, a craft,

snacks, child care, ect. Today, the lady speaking had the topic of health and

fitness. Of course, one of her key points was nutrition. She was talking about

the need to eliminate white flour, sugar, carbonated drinks, junk food in

general. She was pointing out the instead we need to use whole wheat, whole

grains, veggie and fruits of course, ect. A couple of moms said some things

that I really wanted to address, but I couldn't keep my mouth shut when this one

mom with a two year old developmentally delay son was talking about how he only

will eat certain foods. Yep, you all know what he was self limitting to. All

the standard carbs like chicken nuggets, chips, goldfish, ect. I couldn't keep

my mouth shut. I told her that if he is restricting himself to those items,

then he certainly must have yeast and bacterial overgrowth. I have felt drawn

to talk to this lady before because I have a feeling taht her son is in need of

SCD and maybe other biomedicals. So, I started to briefly explain that we had

to change iel's eating habits to SCD. I gave a brief explanation about

cutting out all grains, the difference between polysacarids, disacarides, and

monsacarides. The lady speaking made a face, and kind of a disagreeing grunt.

Then, she jumped in with her thoughts and suggestions. She did agree that it

was a red flag to yeast overgrowth, but poopooed SCD. I'm going to buy her a

copy of BTVC, and this mom with the delayed son as well. I just was so

frustrated that especially the supposed expert on health and fitness thought I

was a wacko. I don't think she'll think I'm a total nut case after she read the

book(if she does read it) because of the explanation of the science behind why

SCD works. It was so very frustrating though. Imagine how many more

children(and adults for that matter) can be helped if people would just listen.
