Guest guest
we went to the clinic yesterday. Torin was such a good boy...really serious but didn't fuss at all. They said that his weezing and cough could be becouse of the reflux or astma (sp?). They increase his pulmicort from .25 to .50 and he will take zantac twice a day 1.6ml. He should be ok. they didn't do any test...but I think next visit they will do it coz it will be 1 year since we went to the clinic for the first time. He just gain 1/2 pound this month but he is over the 50% to height...I believe 70%...and the " fat measure " increased too. Yesterday for the first time after he was a newborn he vomit a lot...like all his food ( 8oz of baby food)...I was so frustrated...he has been ok since then...but I am scared of feeding him...my mommy said it is normal...sometimes kids do it... Ah...my best friend is coming to visit me from Brasil...she will stay w/ us for 3 weeks...I will have someone to talk and help me...It will be so cool to have a best freind again... My dog, Freak, has a ear infection and I can't take him to the vet until friday...it makes me feel so guilt...I am spoilng him a lot but he is in pain and I blame myself coz I don't know how to drive and I need my husband to do it for my doggie. Friday we are going to see a house in my in laws city. We are trying to buy a house but it needs to be a house that do not need any big work to get the fHA loan. And it seems that all houses needs some work... My doctor wants me to stop breastfeeding coz they think I need antidepression (sp?) medicine...but I am not sure if it worths... I am having big mood swings and I thought it was hormonal balance problems...but when I told the doctor my son has CF she decided that I was depressed... Sorry for the long e-mail...but I just want to share a little bit w/ my friends on-line. hope everybody is ok...and those who I know that are not I keep them in my thoughts. love val mum to torin 1 yowcf , 31'' and 22lb 8oz
Guest guest
Poor dear, you are having it rough. Is there no one on list that lives near you and could meet to talk with you so that you could make new friends? Have you thought about taking driving lessons so that you can be a bit more independent? Your doggy should be able to take baby asprin. Call the vet and let him know how much your dog weighs, so they can tell you the dosage. DON'T give him tylenol or ibuprofen though, that's bad for dogs. It will at least get him through the pain until Friday. You could also blow a hairdryer on warm into his ears. Those mood swings are the pits. Write often and let us know what you decide to do so that we can support you. Dawn mom of 4, 8 and under, the youngest wcf
Guest guest
Hi Val, I just wanted to let you know, there are antidepressants available now that are safe for breastfeeding moms. My midwife put me on Lexipro because of post-partum depression. I was reluctant to try it but decided to see if it would make a difference...it really did. If you decide to give it a try, you'll know if it is working for you. I just wanted you to know you do not have to stop breastfeeding. Lexipro is fairly new so maybe your doctor is just not aware of this as an option. I was also told if that one didn't work Zoloft was an option as well. My daughter is 15 months now and I'm still nursing her and I feel like my old self again. Stay with it if you can (just my opinion ). Good luck and keep us posted on how YOU are doing as well as Torin. Love, Mom to Ellie 15mo. wCF and Jack 3 1/2 yrs. noCF torin's CF Clinic we went to the clinic yesterday.
