Guest guest
Dear friends, I spent a few days, last week, visiting my sister and her family, which includes my 10 yr old niece w/cf. It was a really good visit. On Tuesday, I even got to administer treatment to my niece. My sister had to go out and I was pretty sure time had come for afternoon treatment so I decided to take it upon myself to do it. I was nervous but had been quietly observing so I just did it. Besides, my niece knows what needs to be done so if I was wrong she would have told me. I gave her the albuterol and then we lugged the compressor to where the computer was because she asked if she could be on the computer during treatment. I hooked up the hoses and plugged her in and voila. She does 3 sets of 10 min. and uses the flutter and huffs after each 10 minute session. She was wonderful with me during it. As you all know, I'm a cf carrier. Two weeks ago I went to a specialist in Boston for my pancreatitis. It was a disappointing trip (except for visiting with a long-time friend) so when I got home I emailed him. To my surprise he called me on the phone on Friday night. Bottom line- in addition to the recommendations for my pancreatitis he said to get sweat tested and possibly further gene studies (thanks, n! you had mentioned it a while ago). So, I'll see my regular gastroenterologist next week and take it from there. I guess I should quit while I'm ahead before this gets too long.
