Guest guest
I have read some on Autoimmune Pancreatitis...where your immune system battles with itself thinking your own organs and functions are foreign. I know that swollen lymph nodes are usually signs that there is some sort of infection and your body is attempting to rid itself of it. If what I have is truely Autoimmune Pancreatitis, having swollen lymph nodes during a flare or an attack would just make sense, right? Just a thought....:0)---Kim S. Guest guest
Kim, I am not positive but I think a swollen lymph node is just a non-specific reaction to any kind of inflammation for many reasons. An inflammation of the pancreas - from auto-immunity to infection, malignancy, to just plain irritation from the blocked ducts for example, could make lymphs swollen. I think that it is a too generalized reaction to put any diagnostic value into this symptom. The best way, from what I read, is to get the blood tests and the radiology films as it seems that an auto-immune pancreas has some very specific changes on CT and / or EUS, ERCP.
