Guest guest
Hello, We are on day 3 of the intro diet, or we're supposed to be anyway. I learned about PDD about 2 weeks ago and about SCD 5 days ago. I had just gone out and stocked the pantry with GFCF food a few days before that, so had to re-do the pantry and start over again. Anyway, my son is 2 and 4 months old. On the first day we did fine with the intro diet as he doesn't usually eat much anyway. Yesterday however, his appetite was voracious and I could not keep him filled up on the intro diet foods - I'm nervous about eggs for him so I just prepared the gelatin, chicken soup with the broth I had made and carrot pennies, and hamburger in beef broth I had made. He was constantly demanding more food all day long and after initial acceptance of the gelatin, decided he didn't like it and wouldn't touch it - well to be more precise, would break it into little tiny pieces and thow it on the floor then mash it with his feet like he does with other foods. So I gave him green beans thinking he'd maybe eat one or two, but he ate his share, then stole them from both my daughters plates and my own. Finally I let him have a very ripe banana which he scarfed down like it was nothing and then he stood at the pantry crying and pointing and would not be distracted by offers of the other things, so I let him have a fruit leather which he also scarfed down. By the end of the day he had eaten an enormous amount of food (which is extremely wierd) In addition to more bowls of chicken soup than I could keep track of and a bowl of beef broth with hamburger, he also had 3 prunes, about a 1/2 cup cooked pineapple, 2 fruit leathers, 1 and 1/2 lara bars (dates, almonds, and cherries), and almost 16 ounces of diluted grape juice!!! His stools as of last night were still formed, but mucosy and had a diarrhea-like smell, but he didn't seem to be bothered by them. Now, here is my problem, that is a huge amount of food he ate and I do not know how I am going to be able to start over on the intro diet and keep him filled up on only those few foods. Oh, and he greatly dislikes the sauces - apple and pear sauce. He won't touch them, wont' even throw them on the floor. How do I keep this voracious new appetite happy on the intro diet? I am guessing that the almonds and dried fruits are most definitely out at this stage. What can I do? Thank you, SCD 3 days 2 yo PDD
