Guest guest
it really depends on the individual rate of growth. my son got his band at 6 months and he has had it about 9 weeks, he is generally finished to a normal range, but we are leaving it on a few more weeks since he still has lots of wear left in the band. he was mild/moderate with general asymetry. his ped also did not think he needed a band, but I asked for the eval at the cranail specialist who agreed he could benefit, also I did try repo first. but his ped was suprised to see the helmet when we went in, actually said he is the first one she has seen that has gotten one! I can't understand why so many peds are so conservative with their reccoemedations. le 8 mosFrom: doorbeek <doorbeek@...>Subject: New To Group-- Going to eval at Cranial Tech on Friday despite...Plagiocephaly Date: Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 3:48 PM Docs saying "wait it out..." Had a nurse practitioner tell me that our peds will RARELY recommend a band. I took matters into my own hands. My sister took her peds advice and her baby still have a flat head at a year. My daughter is 5 mos. 3 weeks, she will be at least 6 1/2 months by the time she will get a band. What is the avg time they wear one at that age? I have no idea what her "measurements" are yet but I would say she has moderate plagio...flattening on right side, no assymetry that can be detected by the naked eye and no forehead bulge. I will try to post some photos.
