Guest guest
Hi " eacgetwell " , > Are Jennies Coconut macaroons ok for the SCD diet. They are made with > only unsweetened coconut, honey and egg whites? You'll have to get a letter in writing from the company disclosing all ingredients. You will need to check that the honey is 100% pure filtered honey. They may use " cut " honey (honey that contains corn syrup or other sweeteners) or unfiltered honey. Unfiltered honey contains pollen that isn't good for those with gut issues. Also did they use real egg whites or the commercial egg white substitutes with possible illegals added. If you have sulfur issues you'll want to check and se if the coconut has sulfur added or not. Also, if you are just starting the diet or having symptoms you may want to be careful with coconut. It is pretty fibrous and some people do have to wait before introducing it. > Also, does anyone have a list of SCD approved products that we can > truley trust? Some products like bacon etc are legal but because they are so many brands it is impossible to list them all. Different brands can be found depending on where you live. For example, I live in Canada and a legal bacon brand here is " Maple Leaf's 33 and 1/3 less salt bacon " . Also there are some people who specialize in prpearing and selling SCD legal foods. With these links although the foods are all legal you may or ay not tolerate them - you'll have to use your own judgement: http://pecanbread.com/new/legalfoods1.html Legal commercial juices are also at the above link.
